Harriett is a London based designer and maker. A graduate from the Royal College of Art, Harriett worked as a hand embroiderer in the luxury fashion industry. As a craftswoman with a specialist background in embroidery, she now delivers programs at the University of the Arts London. Harriett often undertakes commissions through collaborations, having previously exhibited work with the V&A museum, BBC and at Buckingham Palace. She works both independently and collaboratively upon invitation.
Harriett looks to explore the reinvention and repurposing of materials using mixed media processes. The pieces created for Inland investigate nature in design, exclusively through digital embroidery methods. A craftswoman at heart, you will often find Harriett exploring form and structure through textiles. Construction and the piecing together of materials form the basis of all her pieces. Often inspired by seam work and sculptural arrangements, fabrication often motivates her design process.
