London-born Clare Leith has worked as an interior designer for many years and has formatively focused on environmental art for change. Climate change is an issue society must no longer ignore and Clare’s entirely eco-friendly art is making an important contribution for art lovers who recognise that we as citizens can all play our part.
7.7 billion plastic bottles are manufactured a year, used once and discarded. Clare’s subject of focus is crushed discarded plastic bottles and their complex forms. In line with the Inland ethos, her creations are carbon neutral. Clare blends waste cardboard to create her environmentally neutral sheets of canvas, which are then painted using certified eco-friendly paints.
Art should evoke emotion and action for change. Members of Inland hope that by working together, their collective voice will be effective in highlighting the message that, when it comes to an issue as critical to humanity as climate change, we must all play our part as individuals.
