Meredith Fitzmaurice

Meredith was born and raised in Canada to two artists. Art lessons were carried out in every corner of the family home, but her practice began later while working as a makeup artist for film. The temporary nature of painting on faces left her craving the permanence of paint on paper once again.

Meredith is inspired by the complex relationship women have with their bodies. Through fluid splashes of watercolour paired with unconventional strokes of ink, she reveals intimate and emotional female figures.

Meredith currently works out of her studio in South London.
